For faculty, estates and private collections
A lifetime of scholarly books deserves better than a recycler. We place them with the readers and libraries who want them, and pay you for it, without a single box leaving your hands.

Who this is for
- Professors retiring or moving offices, with a working library built over decades
- Families settling the estate of a scholar, physician, lawyer, engineer or collector
- Clergy, researchers and professionals downsizing a specialist library
- Collectors of art, architecture, history, science or foreign-language books
What happens
You tell us what's there. We look, either through the scanning app or in person, and tell you which books we'd take and at what terms. Then we come with the truck or send UPS labels and schedule a pickup. If you'd rather not sort, say so: we'll do the sorting and leave the rest neatly boxed for a library sale or charity of your choice.
Choosing between the two options. Buyout is simpler and faster: one payment, done. Revenue share pays more over time for strong academic collections because each title sells at its own price. We'll tell you honestly which we'd pick for your books.
Books we're looking for
Academic and scholarly works in any field, university press titles, art and architecture monographs, medical, legal and technical references, history, philosophy, religion, music, foreign-language scholarship, poetry, and out-of-print non-fiction. Condition matters less than you'd think; a working library with underlining is fine.
Questions we're often asked
I'm retiring and have a few thousand books in my office. What's the easiest way to do this?
Tell us the subjects and a rough count. We'll either send you the scanning app so you can see what's worth keeping for sale, or, in Michigan and nearby, come and look ourselves. Selected books go on our UPS labels or our truck. You can choose a single buyout payment or the 50/50 revenue share.
Do you buy whole collections, or just the valuable ones?
Either. A buyout can cover every book we agree to take at one flat rate. On the revenue share we take the titles that will sell online and leave the rest for donation. We'll tell you plainly which books fall where before anything moves.
What if the books are in an estate out of state?
If the collection is strong in academic or specialty non-fiction, write to us with the location and a description. We handle out-of-region collections case by case and can usually arrange UPS freight.
Do you take fiction, novels or children's books?
No. We take non-fiction of every subject, and poetry. For fiction and children's books we'll suggest local outlets.
How quickly do I get paid?
Buyout: when the books arrive at our warehouse, typically within a week of pickup. Revenue share: a statement and payment each month as titles sell.
